This Persian carpet was woven in Kashan, an ancient city that flourished during the Safavid period. Kashan is located between Isfahan and the Persian capital of Tehran.
There is a medallion in the center and the medallion is divided into four parts at each corner, making it a beautiful piece woven with detailed flowers and plants.
Kashan is known for its fine weave and high quality wool, and is a popular production area among the Persian people.
Hand-woven carpets have grain and counter-grain, which indicate the direction of the carpet's pile, and are characterized by the fact that the color changes depending on the direction in which the carpet is laid. Please refer to the second and third photos, which make it easy to see the color changes.
Because of its large size, it can be used to cover the entire dining or living room, or combined with sofas and other interior decor in lobbies and other open spaces.
