This is a hand-woven Mashwani Kilim made in Afghanistan.
Beautiful, intricate geometric patterns are densely woven into every detail.
This carpet combines flat-woven kilim fabric (without pile) and carpet-woven pile fabric (with pile), giving it a unique texture with a three-dimensional feel. (See the 3rd to 5th photos for a clearer picture.)
Weaving methods vary depending on the region and material, but the main feature of hand-woven carpets is the technique of tying the weft threads to the warp threads. This carpet, which combines carpet weaving and kilim weaving, is more difficult to weave than a regular kilim, and is characterized by a pattern that feels powerful and requires very advanced craftsmanship.
It's thin and not thick, so you can hang it on the wall.
