This is a silk carpet from the Kashmir region , which is on the border between northern India and northeastern Pakistan. It features unique patterns and colors, and has the attractive luster and smoothness of silk. While Persian silk carpets are brightly colored, Kashmir silk carpets have a warm vintage feel.
The design is traditional, with a large central medallion surrounded by intricate, symmetrical floral motifs. The colours combine terracotta, navy, sky blue and various shades of orange and green on a cream background. These colours are warm and subdued, making them suitable for many interiors.
Its relatively small size of approximately 63cm x 92cm makes it the perfect size for a hallway, bedside table, or under a small table.
