This rug is a hand-woven Mashwani Kilim from Afghanistan, with warm orange and beige tones.
This piece features a geometric diamond shape. The beautiful, intricate geometric pattern is densely woven into every detail, giving it a powerful look.
It has a unique texture with unevenness and three-dimensionality that combines flat woven kilim fabric (no pile) and carpet pile fabric (with pile), and it is a combination of carpet weaving and kilim weaving, which is more difficult to weave than regular kilims and requires advanced craftsmanship. It is soft to the touch and has a crumpled, vintage-like texture.
The size is about 84cm x 120cm, which is the perfect size for a small living room or entryway. The 2nd to 7th photos were taken indoors when natural light was shining in beautifully. Please take a look for color reference.
