This is a hand-woven lion rug made by the Qashqai people of the Shiraz region of Iran.
The design features a unique and charming leopard woven large in the center with floral patterns woven into the fields and frame.
Weaving methods vary depending on the region and material, but the main feature of hand-woven carpets is the technique of tying the weft threads to the warp threads.
