This is a handwoven Lion Gabbeh made in Shiraz, Persia.
The base color features a natural, gentle hue created from undyed natural wool.
A lion with large, bright eyes is intricately woven into the center.
The design, depicting a lion holding a sword with the sun peeking from behind, was used in the Persian flag until the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
