This carpet is a handmade Persian carpet woven in the Nain region near Isfahan , Persia. It is a masterpiece made by the highly acclaimed Habibian atelier in Nain.
This carpet is of very high quality and is woven more tightly than the carpets usually made in Nain, resulting in a carpet with short pile that is tightly packed and extremely fine.
The design is mainly off-white, and features a central medallion and arabesque patterns unique to Nain carpets. Silk is used for the edges of the pattern, which sparkles in the light and makes the pattern appear three-dimensional.
Hand-woven carpets have a characteristic of having "with the grain" and "against the grain" because of the way the hair flows, and the shade of the color changes depending on which direction it is laid. This color change can be clearly seen in the second and third photos, so please use this as a reference when purchasing.
