These Afghan carpets are hand-woven by the Turkmen people of Afghanistan.
The Turkmen people live from northeastern Persia to northwestern Afghanistan.
The central part of the carpet features a traditional "Khojaroshnai" design featuring a dense gyul pattern.
The contrast between colour and shape is striking, and the intricately woven design is beautiful.
The pile (the length of the carpet) is short and easy to care for.
