This is a hand-woven silk carpet woven in the Kashmir region, near the border between northern India and northeastern Pakistan.
The base color is a soft and calm combination of beige, orange, and pink.
Plants, landscapes and intricate flowers are woven into the fabric.
It has an enchantingly smooth texture and a beautiful, elegant luster.
Hand-woven carpets have a direction in which the pile flows, called with the grain and against the grain, and the way the color appears will change depending on the direction in which it is laid, so please take a look and compare photos 2 and 3.
While Persian hand-woven silk carpets have bright, clear colors, Kashmiri hand-woven silk carpets have a yellowish tint overall, giving them a warm, calm, vintage-like feel.
