This is a handwoven Persian rug made in Tabriz, Iran.
It features a distinctive pattern that spreads outward from the central medallion.
Some parts of the pattern are woven with silk to create a three-dimensional appearance.
Handwoven rugs have a direction of pile, known as 'nap', which affects how the colors appear depending on the laying direction. Please refer to the second and third photos for a clear understanding of the color variations.
