This is a handwoven silk rug produced in the Kashmir region, near the border of northern India and northeastern Pakistan.
This rug utilizes silk for both the warp and weft, ensuring exceptional quality. While Persian silk rugs are known for their vibrant colors, Kashmir rugs tend to have a slightly yellowish hue, exuding a warm vintage feel.
The beautiful luster unique to silk and its smooth texture are truly captivating. The weaving technique varies by location and material, but this rug features a method that connects the warp and weft, using 24 threads per square inch, resulting in very high quality.
