A hand-woven Persian carpet woven in Tabriz in northwestern Persia. Tabriz is one of the largest cities in Persia and the capital of the East Aserbaijan Province.
The base color is beige. The carpet is beautiful, calm and elegant. The material is cork wool, a soft wool obtained from lambs, and white silk is used around the fine patterns to give the pattern a three-dimensional look.
The design is a traditional Mahi pattern, which means fish in Persian. The floral pattern is woven into the white area between the carpet and the tassels, making this a piece that is full of attention to detail.
The weave is so fine, it's a work of art, and the surface pile is short, making it extremely durable.
Hand-woven carpets have a direction in which the pile flows, called with the grain and against the grain, and the way the color shades appear changes depending on the direction in which it is laid.
