A hand-woven Persian carpet made in the city of Tabriz in northwestern Persia.
Tabriz is the capital of East Aserbaijan Province and one of the largest cities in Iran.
The base color is turquoise blue. The result is a beautiful, calm and elegant carpet.
The material is cork wool, a soft wool obtained from lambs, and white silk is used around the intricate patterns to give them a three-dimensional look.
The design is a traditional Mahi pattern, which means fish in Persian.
The floral pattern is woven into the white area between the carpet and the tassel, making this a piece that is full of attention to detail.
The surface pile is short and extremely durable.
