These are hand-woven Persian carpets from Tabriz, located in northwestern Persia. Tabriz is the capital of East Azerbaijan Province, and the carpets produced there are known for their beauty and high quality.
The base color is a mixture of red and deep pink. It is a beautiful, calm and elegant carpet. The material is cork wool, a precious wool that can only be obtained in small quantities from the neck of a lamb, and white silk is used around the fine patterns to give the pattern a three-dimensional look.
The design is a traditional Mahi pattern, which means fish in Persian. In addition, a medallion with a flower-like design is woven in the center, and the weave is very fine, making it a work of art. The surface pile is short and very durable.
In addition, floral patterns are woven into the white area between the carpet and the tassels, making this a piece that is full of attention to detail.
Hand-woven carpets have a direction in which the fibers flow, called with the grain and against the grain, and the way the colors appear will change depending on the direction in which it is laid.
