This handwoven Lion Gabbeh is crafted in the Shiraz region of Persia.
It features a soft pile typical of Gabbeh, combined with the artistry of Kilim.
This lion has a somewhat cat-like appearance. Its angular form and gentle expression evoke the free spirit of nomadic life.
Rather than an imposing lion, it gives off the vibe of a “cat pretending to be a lion.”

A Lion Gabbeh is a type of rug woven by the nomadic Qashqai people of southwestern Iran, characterized by its distinctive lion-themed design. The lion has long been used as a symbol of strength and wisdom.
