This is a handwoven Persian rug crafted in Isfahan, Iran.
It features a stunning vibrant blue color. The design is inspired by the ceilings of mosques, intricately woven with details such as the central medallion and the border framing.
The warp threads are made of silk, and silk is also used in the patterns, giving it a sparkling effect when exposed to light.
The pile is short and densely woven, using soft cork wool sourced from the neck and chest of lambs, resulting in a smooth texture.
Handwoven rugs have a directional flow of the fibers, known as 'nap,' which affects how the colors appear depending on the direction they are laid. Please refer to photos 6 and 7 to see the color variations clearly.
You can enjoy changing the orientation of the rug according to the season or the ambiance of your room.

Isfahan rugs are distinguished by their use of "kork wool," a fine and soft wool taken from the neck of young lambs. This high-quality material offers both durability and resistance to dirt. The designs are refined and elegant, with an exceptionally high knot density that enhances the intricate beauty of the patterns. Traditional motifs such as medallions—often inspired by mosque domes—and intricate arabesque (Eslimi) designs are commonly featured, reflecting the deep artistic heritage of Persian craftsmanship.
