This carpet is a hand-knotted Persian carpet woven in Nain , near Isfahan, Persia.
This is a masterpiece woven at the Habibian workshop , which is particularly highly regarded among Nain carpets.It is woven at a higher density than regular Nain carpets and is made with intricate detail.
A distinctive feature is the medallion , which is inspired by the ceiling decoration of Islamic temples (mosques). The short pile (carpet hair) is tightly woven, resulting in a very detailed finish.
The design is predominantly off-white, with a central medallion and intricate arabesque patterns characteristic of Nain carpets. Silk is used for the edges of the pattern, which sparkle in the light and give it a three-dimensional impression.
Due to the unique characteristic of hand-woven carpets, the "with grain" and "against the grain", the color tone changes depending on the direction in which it is laid. You can see the color change in the second and third photos, so please use it as a reference when purchasing.
