This carpet is a hand-woven Persian silk carpet woven in a region called Qum , about 100 km south of the Persian capital, Tehran .
A medallion is placed in the center and intricate arabesque patterns are woven around it, making use of the contrast of red and green.
In addition, the white parts have a lace-like pattern, giving the overall piece an elegant finish.
Hand-woven carpets have a certain flow of fibers, called "with the grain" and "against the grain." This flow of fibers causes the carpet's color to appear different depending on the direction it is laid.
You can see this color change clearly in the second and third photos.
The size is perfect as a doormat, and it also serves as an accent piece for your room.
