This is a hand-woven Mashwani Kilim made in Afghanistan.
The beautiful, intricate geometric pattern is densely woven into every detail, creating a powerful and distinctive piece.
The combination of flat-woven kilim fabric (no pile) and carpet-woven pile fabric (with pile) creates a unique texture with unevenness and three-dimensional feel.
This piece combines carpet weaving and kilim weaving, and is more difficult to weave than a regular standard kilim, requiring advanced craftsmanship.
