This Mashwani Kilim is lovingly handwoven in Afghanistan.
Fine geometric patterns are intricately woven throughout the piece, making for a powerful and impressive design.
This kilim combines flat weaving and carpet weaving techniques, with pile fabric (with long pile) and kilim fabric (without long pile) woven alternately.
This combination creates a unique texture with a three-dimensional feel.
This special weaving method is more difficult to weave than regular kilims and requires advanced craftsmanship.
It feels soft to the touch and has a supple texture.
The second to fifth photos were taken indoors at a moment when beautiful natural light was shining in, and they allow you to get a true sense of the kilim's color and texture, so be sure to use them as a reference for the colors.
