This is a hand-woven Persian Gabbeh rug made in the Shiraz region of Persia.
Gabbeh is a hand-woven carpet made by the Qashqai people .
The base color is deep red, with a bright orange lion in the center and an orange and green tree of life woven around it.
The design features a lion holding a sword with the sun peeking out from behind it.
This design was previously used on the flag of Persia.
The Tree of Life represents wishes for the family's longevity and good health as it reaches up to the sky.
