This is a hand-woven silk Persian carpet woven at the Shahryar workshop in Qom , Persia.
The holy city of Qom in central Iran has been a world-renowned producer of luxury carpets since the 20th century. Skilled craftsmen tie hundreds of thousands of knots together to create a lustrous, supple carpet.
Against a background of vibrant turquoise and deep black, roses bloom gracefully at the four corners and an intricate floral pattern in the center. The sign features an ancient Persepolis guardian.
