This is a hand-woven silk Persian carpet woven in Qom , located about 100 kilometers south of the Persian capital, Tehran.
This carpet has a black base colour with intricate silver patterns woven into the central medallion and main border.
The unique luster of Persian carpets creates a chic and elegant atmosphere. The limited number of colors creates a calm impression.
It may be hard to tell from the photo, but the medallion is woven with arabesque patterns in deep navy blue, and by turning the carpet around, the pattern stands out. Please take a look at the 4th and 7th pictures.
Also, hand-woven carpets have a "grain" and "countergrain" direction of the pile, which causes the color tones to change depending on the direction in which the carpet is laid. Please compare the third and fourth photos.
