The carpet is made of silk and hand-woven in the Yadidi workshops of Kashan , located in central Persia, between Isfahan and Tehran.
Compared to carpets produced in Qom workshops, Kashan silk carpets are characterised by their paler colours.
The carpet is predominantly white with a subtle and sober combination of pale greens, blues and beiges, and features a central medallion with a delicate arabesque pattern woven outwards.
It is woven from 100% silk, so it feels incredibly smooth against the skin and has a beautiful sheen.
Hand-woven carpets have a "with grain" and a "against grain" direction of the pile, and the way the color appears changes depending on the direction in which it is laid. Please take a look at the third and fourth photos to see the difference.
