This is a hand-woven silk Persian carpet woven in Qom , located about 100 kilometers south of Tehran , the capital of Persia.
The navy blue base is intricately woven with colorful flowers and arabesque patterns, and vibrant colors such as orange, pink, turquoise and gold stand out.
A large medallion sits in the centre, surrounded by an intricate, symmetrical floral pattern, while four corners feature vase motifs of flowers spilling out of them.
Measuring 59cm x 92cm, it is the perfect accent piece for your entryway or living space, or beautifully hung on the wall.
Hand-woven carpets have a different direction of pile flow, called with the grain or against the grain, and the color tone changes depending on the direction in which the carpet is laid. You can see the color change by comparing the third and fourth photos.
