This hand-woven silk Persian carpet was woven in Qom , located about 100 km south of Tehran, the capital of Iran.
Woven in a Keramatian workshop, the carpet's number is woven into the top center along with the workshop name.
This carpet is one of the finest hand-woven silk carpets, characterized by its soft and smooth feel.
The base color is deep navy blue. The arch design on the outer frame is rare and rarely seen in other carpets.
Also, as you can see from the overall picture, the part from the center to the right side is woven only with navy and gold, intentionally without the accent color turquoise blue, to give it a beautiful, well-worn antique look. The tassels are also woven ecru instead of white.
Also, hand-woven carpets have a different direction of flow, called with the grain and against the grain, and the way the carpet is laid changes the way the color appears. Please compare the second and third photos.
