This rug is a silk piece handwoven at the Yadidi Workshop in Kashan, located between Isfahan and Tehran in central Persia.
Compared to rugs made in Qom, Kashan silk rugs are characterized by their lighter color tones.
This rug features white as the primary color, complemented by a refined and calm palette of soft greens, blues, and beiges. At the center, there is a medallion from which intricate floral patterns radiate outward.
Woven from 100% silk, it offers an exceptionally smooth texture and a beautiful sheen.
Handwoven rugs exhibit a directionality in the pile known as "nap" and "reverse nap," which affects how the colors appear depending on the laying direction. Please compare the third and fourth images for a better understanding.
