This is a hand-woven silk Persian carpet from Qom , Iran. Qom is located about 100 km south of Tehran, the capital of Iran. This carpet was produced by the Musavi Atelier.
Deep reds and golds dominate, with subtle accents of muted greens and subtle blues, creating an overall luxurious yet sophisticated atmosphere.
This design is called the Gombadi pattern and is depicted on the ceiling of a mosque when viewed from below.
The appeal of silk carpets is their smooth texture and the way the patterns and colors shine beautifully whenever light hits them. Another feature is that because they are hand-woven, the shade of the color changes depending on the angle from which you view them.
