These hand-woven Persian carpets are made in Qom, located about 100 km south of Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Qom is famous for its silk carpets. This one has a wool base, Silk is used for the white parts so that the pattern looks three-dimensional. It sparkles when exposed to light.

The base colour is a mix of pale orange and red.
