This Mashwani Kilim is handwoven in Afghanistan and features intricate geometric patterns. It has a repeating diamond pattern in the center, with tiny crosses of different colors woven into it, and a border design with different designs around the edge of the carpet.
The color scheme is based on orange, with accents of red, navy, yellow, green, and white lines and shapes, creating a warm and calm atmosphere. It is soft to the touch and has a crumpled, vintage-like texture.
This carpet is a combination of flat -woven kilim fabric (no pile) and carpet-woven pile fabric (with pile), giving it a unique texture with bumps and three-dimensional feel. It is difficult to weave and requires advanced craftsmanship.
It measures approximately 74cm x 110cm, making it a good size for a smaller room, entryway or hallway. This size and design makes it a great accent rug or to highlight a particular area.
