This is a hand-woven Persian carpet woven in Nain, near Isfahan in the central part of Persia.
The base color is a vibrant yellow.
This is a gorgeous piece with a fine arabesque pattern spreading out from a central medallion, a characteristic of carpets from Nain.
The white parts bordering the pattern are made of silk, which gives it a sparkling shine and makes the pattern appear three-dimensional.
Carpets woven in Nain are highly regarded and popular due to their high knot density and the use of high quality wool and silk for a fine finish.
