This is a handwoven Persian rug made of silk, crafted in Qom, located about 100 kilometers south of Tehran, the capital of Iran. It features an abundance of intricately woven flowers, creating a vibrant piece.
The base color is black, which enhances the overall impression while highlighting the richness and beauty of the colors. Handwoven rugs have a direction in the pile known as 'nap,' and the appearance of color can change depending on the direction in which the rug is laid (see images 3 and 4).
The white area between the rug and the fringe is woven in silk with a flat weave, and this rug features lion patterns even in the flat woven section, showcasing meticulous attention to detail (see image 4).
