This is a hand-knotted Persian carpet woven in Tabriz , Persia.
It combines beauty and calmness, resulting in a very elegant finish.
The material used is soft wool obtained from lambs called "cork wool," and white silk is used delicately around the edges of the intricate patterns to emphasize their three-dimensionality.
The design of this carpet features a traditional pattern called "Mahi", which means "fish" in Persian, and as the name suggests, the carpet is characterized by a design that resembles a fish.
Floral patterns are carefully woven into the white area between the body of the carpet and the fringe, making this a work of art that shows the artisan's attention to detail.
The pattern that radiates outward from the medallion in the center is a major feature of this carpet, and silk is woven into some parts to give it a three-dimensional impression.
