This piece was woven in Qom, Iran, located 100 kilometers south of Tehran, the capital of Iran.
The base color is a soft turquoise blue.
Flowers and arabesque patterns are intricately woven around the central medallion pattern.
Also, the way the color of a hand-woven carpet looks changes depending on the direction of the pile, called grain or counter-grain. (See images 2 and 3)
It is a rare oval shape.
