This handwoven Persian rug is crafted in Nain, located near Isfahan in central Persia. It is a piece from the renowned Habibian Workshop, known for producing the finest Nain rugs.
This rug boasts high-quality fine craftsmanship. With a tighter weave density than typical carpets made in Nain, it is intricately woven down to the smallest details, resulting in a short, dense pile.
The central area features a blend of salmon pink and orange hues, while the border is based in off-white.
The design, characterized by a central medallion from which delicate floral patterns radiate, is particularly vibrant. The white sections that outline the patterns are made of silk, adding a shimmering effect that enhances the three-dimensional appearance of the design.
Handwoven rugs exhibit a directional flow of the fibers, known as 'nap,' which affects how colors appear depending on the direction they are laid. Please refer to photos 3 and 4 for a clear demonstration of this color variation.
