This handwoven Persian rug is crafted in the city of Tabriz, located in the northwest of Persia.
Tabriz is one of the largest cities in Persia and serves as the capital of East Azerbaijan Province.
The base color is beige, resulting in a beautifully calm and elegant rug.
The material used is cork wool, which is soft wool obtained from lambs, and white silk is incorporated around the intricate patterns to enhance their three-dimensional effect.
The design features the traditional mahi pattern, which means fish in Persian.
Floral motifs are woven into the white area between the rug and the fringes, showcasing meticulous attention to detail.
The weaving is exceptionally fine, making it a true work of art. The surface pile is short, providing excellent durability.
Handwoven rugs have a directionality in the flow of the fibers, known as 'with the nap' and 'against the nap,' which affects the appearance of color depending on the laying direction. Please refer to photos 5 and 6 for a clear understanding of the color variations.

Tabriz rugs are characterized by their strong and densely woven structure, as most weavers are male. Therefore, they are very durable and do not easily leave marks even when heavy furniture is placed on them. With high durability, they can be safely used in areas where friction or weight is applied, such as under dining tables or where furniture is placed.

Maintenance
To maintain good condition for a long time, please pay attention to the following points.
- Regular vacuuming is sufficient for rug care. Vacuum gently along the pile and avoid the fringes.
- If liquid is spilled, gently blot with a dry cloth to absorb moisture. Please avoid rubbing.
- Once a year, lightly wipe along the pile with a tightly wrung towel to maintain color and luster.
