This handwoven Persian Gabbeh is crafted by the Qashqai people in the Shiraz region of Iran.
Being of fine quality, it is made with superior wool that is of a higher grade than typical Gabbeh, resulting in a tightly woven and finely detailed piece.
The base colors feature gentle shades of natural wool, including beige, brown, and ivory, which have not been dyed.
The design of a lion holding a sword, with the sun peeking from behind, was previously used in the national flag of Iran.
With a compact size of approximately 40cm x 40cm, this Gabbeh is recommended for those seeking a smaller lion rug.
Features of Lion Gabbeh
Lion Gabbeh is a rug woven by the Qashqai nomads in southwestern Iran, featuring a unique design inspired by lions. The lion has been incorporated as a symbol of "strength" and "wisdom" since ancient times.
Woven from high-quality wool, it has a thick, fluffy texture and a soft, cushioned finish, providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer, making it comfortable to use year-round.
What is Kashkuli?
Kashkuli is considered the highest quality work among Gabbeh, woven by the finest weavers of the Qashqai tribe. It is characterized by a higher density than regular Gabbeh, featuring intricate designs woven with fine, high-density techniques.

Maintenance
To maintain good condition for a long time, please pay attention to the following points.
- Regular vacuuming is sufficient for rug care. Vacuum gently along the pile and avoid the fringes.
- If liquid is spilled, gently blot with a dry cloth to absorb moisture. Please avoid rubbing.
- Once a year, lightly wipe along the pile with a tightly wrung towel to maintain color and luster.
