Zolansari Workshop

The story of Zolansari begins in 1947 when Gholamreza Zolansari joined his father's carpet business. Gholamreza was deeply captivated by the traditional techniques of the nomadic tribes of southern Persia, particularly focusing on the colorful Gabbeh carpets with their high pile. He collaborated with the Qashqai and Luri tribes to develop new designs that adapted these Gabbeh carpets for the modern market.

In 1985, Gholamreza's son Reza Zolansari established a base in Zurich, Switzerland, securing direct access to the European market. This allowed Zolansari to provide swift and effective service to European customers, successfully enhancing its international recognition.

Early Traditional Inspiration

The early Zolansari carpets featured patterns and symbols that reflected the culture and lifestyle of the nomads. These designs were inspired by the nature, flora, and fauna of southern Persia, as well as scenes from everyday life.

Current Approach

Today, Zolansari carpets reinterpret traditional patterns in a modern way, creating simple and sophisticated designs. This provides a style that harmonizes with contemporary interiors while retaining traditional elements.
