Peshawar rugs are handwoven carpets primarily produced in the Peshawar region of Pakistan. Their origins and weaving techniques were introduced by Afghan immigrants, blending traditional Afghan craftsmanship with design elements inspired by Persian rugs.

These rugs are known for their antique-style finishes and subdued color palettes. Since the 20th century, they have gained popularity in international markets for their timeless, rustic appeal.

Peshawar rugs often feature soft, natural tones such as beige, ivory, and other muted shades. These tones are achieved using hand-dyed, natural dyes, giving the rugs a warm, organic feel and a sense of traditional elegance.

Made from high-quality handspun wool—occasionally blended with silk—Peshawar rugs are soft to the touch and have a gentle sheen.

Each rug is meticulously hand-knotted and then stone-washed, a finishing process that enhances the rug’s unique texture and imparts a natural luster. This treatment also increases the rug’s durability, making it both beautiful and practical.
