Mehrab means an arched entrance that indicates the direction of the Kaaba, where Muslims should pray. This Mehrab is often used in Persian carpet designs, and is considered one of the most representative designs of Persian carpets. This design incorporates the minarets of Islamic mosques as a motif, with columns on both sides of the arch and trees and vases drawn below them.
