Erami Workshop

The Elami Atelier is a renowned Persian carpet workshop founded in 1915. Its founder, Mahmoud Erami, was originally from Kashan and moved to Qom at the age of 10, where he mastered the art of Persian carpet making. By the age of 20, he had distinguished himself in the field and was in a position to train the next generation of craftsmen.

Elami Kobo carpets are made from high quality silk and feature a dense and intricate weave. The famous Qum carpets have an incredible density of 700 knots per square inch (700 KPSI). This density allows the fine details of the design to be beautifully expressed.

In addition, Elami Kobo maintains traditional dyeing techniques and dyes its yarns with natural dyes. Due to their beauty and high quality, Elami Kobo carpets are highly regarded in luxury markets around the world. Currently based in Tehran, the company continues to produce carpets that combine tradition and modern technology.

Elami Atelier's carpets are based on traditional Persian designs such as Shah Abbasi's floral patterns, but are constantly innovating with their own unique color palettes and designs.

Today, Elami Atelier is run by Amirhossein Elami, grandson of founder Mahmoud Elami, who has been in the carpet industry since 1988 and continues the family tradition.
