[Characteristics of Persian Gabbeh]

Persian Gabbeh is a traditional carpet woven by nomads living in southwestern Iran. It is thick and has a fluffy texture that feels like stroking a sheep. It is made of high-quality wool, and is soft and has excellent cushioning properties. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, so it can be used comfortably all year round.

[What is Kashkuri?]

Kashkuri is a Persian gabbeh that is woven by the best weavers in the Qashqai tribe and is considered to be the highest quality. It is denser than regular gabbeh and features intricate designs due to its fine and dense weaving.

[Meaning of the pattern]

Square : It represents a "window" and is meant to bring in happiness.

Deer, goats (sheep) : They are considered assets as they support nomadic life, and this symbolizes wishing for a continued life without inconvenience.

Tree of Life : As it grows high into the sky, it represents wishes for longevity and good health for family members.

Camel : An animal that carries nomads' daily necessities, and is a motif of "success" that brings a prosperous life to new lands.

Pomegranate : A very popular fruit in Persia, the large number of fruits it bears are considered to be auspicious, representing the wish for fertility and prosperity of descendants.

[Care instructions]

Regular vacuuming is sufficient to maintain your carpet. Gently vacuum in the direction of the pile, avoiding the tufts. If liquid is spilled, dab it with a dry cloth to absorb the moisture. Once a year, gently wipe in the direction of the pile with a wrung-out towel. For professional cleaning, please visit our cleaning site .
