This is a Persian Gabbeh from Shiraz.
It is woven with the finest quality wool, which is superior to standard Gabbeh, featuring a dense and intricate fine quality weave.
Dominated by orange, the neatly arranged small squares each incorporate carefully woven motifs of plants and trees.
Features of Persian Gabbeh
Persian Gabbeh is a traditional rug woven by nomads living in southwestern Iran, characterized by its thickness and a fluffy texture reminiscent of petting sheep. It uses high-quality wool, making it soft and cushioned, providing comfort year-round as it is warm in winter and cool in summer.
What is Fine?
Fine is the highest quality Gabbeh created by the excellent weavers of the Qashqai tribe. It is characterized by a higher density than regular Gabbeh, featuring intricate designs due to its fine, high-density weave.
