Massumi Atelier is located in the city of Qom in central Iran. Qom is the capital of Qum Province and is one of the five major Persian carpet producing areas, and is especially famous for its high-quality silk carpets.

This workshop was founded in the second half of the 20th century, driven by the founder's long-standing passion for carpet making.

The founder, Ali Massumi, was born as the second son to a carpet merchant in Qum in 1951. At about the age of 13, he began his apprenticeship as a carpet craftsman at the local bazaar in Qum, and distinguished himself through hard work and ingenuity, eventually becoming one of Iran's leading carpet designers.

In 1980, he officially launched his own carpet studio and the name Masumi Studio was born.

Masumi Kobo has earned a strong reputation for developing its unique "Faded Flowers" pattern design and carpets with unique color combinations such as ultramarine and green.
