This is a handwoven "Mashwani Kilim" made in Afghanistan.
Intricate and beautiful geometric patterns are densely woven throughout.
The most notable feature of this rug is that it combines two weaving methods: the flat "Kilim weaving" and the pile "Piled weaving." The combination creates a unique texture with a three-dimensional feel.
Handwoven rugs vary in weaving methods depending on the region and materials, but a significant characteristic is that they are woven by tying the weft to the warp.
This piece, combining Kilim and pile weaving, is more challenging to weave than a standard kilim, requiring highly skilled craftsmanship. This is why it features strong and striking patterns.
Being thin and lightweight, it can be laid on the floor or hung on the wall for decoration.

Maintenance
Please pay attention to the following points to keep your rug in good condition for a long time.
- Regular vacuuming is sufficient for rug care. Gently vacuum along the pile and avoid the fringes.
- If liquid is spilled, gently blot with a dry cloth to absorb the moisture. Please be careful not to rub.
- Once a year, lightly wipe along the pile with a tightly wrung towel to maintain the luster.
