This is a hand-knotted Persian rug made of wool, woven in Ardabil, a town close to the Caucasus region.
On an ivory background, three large medallions in navy and salmon pink are arranged vertically. Surrounding them are small motifs of birds, vases, and flowers, playfully scattered.
The brick-colored border features star-shaped floral patterns, contrasting beautifully with the soft, natural field, giving the overall piece a refined look.
The rustic and powerful geometric patterns, reminiscent of Caucasian rugs, are truly captivating. This piece easily complements both Western and traditional Japanese interiors.
