This is a hand-woven silk Persian carpet woven in Qom , located about 100 km south of the Persian capital, Tehran.
This piece has a bright pink base and features a symmetrical garden pattern with trees, birds, ponds and flowers.
In arid regions, plants, birds and water represent fertility and paradise, and combined with the underlying pink color, it evokes the feeling of happy spring.
It has been beautifully finished so that it can also be used as a tapestry in your room.
Hand-woven carpets have a direction in which the pile flows, called with the grain and against the grain, and the way the color shades appear changes depending on the direction in which it is laid.
