This is a hand-knotted Persian rug woven in Kashan, featuring a Joshagan design.
With a deep red base, diamond shapes are arranged in a regular pattern, resembling scattered jewels.
Kashan is known as one of the five major production areas for Persian rugs. For centuries, rug weaving has thrived here, earning high praise worldwide for its skilled craftsmanship and beautiful designs.
Joshagan is the name of a small village located south of Kashan, on the way to Isfahan.
The design born in this village has become synonymous with the style itself.
The diamond lattice design that fills the field is a significant characteristic of Joshagan.
This series of diamonds is said to represent the view from above of a Persian garden, “Chahar Bagh,” divided into four sections by water channels.
The flowers depicted in each section vary slightly, reflecting the ideal garden envisioned by the people living in the arid land, beautifully spread across this single piece.

Please pay attention to the following points to keep your rug in good condition for a long time.

- Once a year, lightly wipe along the pile with a tightly wrung towel to maintain the luster.
