This is a handwoven Persian silk rug crafted in Qum, located about 100 kilometers south of Tehran, the capital of Iran. It is a vibrant piece intricately woven with countless flowers.
The base color is black, which tightens the overall impression while enhancing the richness and beauty of the colors. Handwoven rugs have a direction of the pile known as “right side” and “wrong side,” which affects the visibility of color shades depending on the laying direction. (See photos 3 and 4)
The white area between the rug and the fringe is woven flat with silk, and this rug features lion patterns even in the flat-woven part, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. (See photo 4)

Maintenance
Please pay attention to the following points to keep your rug in good condition for a long time.
- Regular vacuuming is sufficient for rug care. Gently vacuum along the pile and avoid the fringes.
- If liquid is spilled, gently blot with a dry cloth to absorb the moisture. Please be careful not to rub.
- Once a year, lightly wipe along the pile with a tightly wrung towel to maintain the luster.
