This is an original handwoven rug from SATHI RUGS made in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
With a vibrant red as the base color, this piece is unified in shades of red such as wine red and pink.
The central pattern is said to be modeled after the footprints of elephants, known as the Bukhara pattern.
Using high-quality New Zealand wool, intricate and beautiful patterns are woven throughout, resembling a view through a kaleidoscope.
This fine quality rug boasts one of the top weaving densities among Pakistani rugs.
There are 12 warp threads and 24 weft threads per square inch, resulting in a short pile with a tightly packed texture due to the dense weaving.
The weaving technique varies by region and material, but the main characteristic of handwoven rugs is tying the weft threads to the warp threads.
What is Fine Quality?
Fine quality is a high-density Pakistani rug finished with a higher weaving density than regular Pakistani rugs.
Woven with a high knot density of 12×24, it features a significantly finer weave compared to standard Pakistani rugs (9×16).
Made from 100% New Zealand wool, the pile is trimmed short to create a refreshing texture and a clean appearance.
Due to its dense weave, it is resistant to dirt and dust, making it very durable and easy to care for. The delicate and intricate patterns can be expressed clearly without losing their outlines.
With a short and sturdy pile, it can be safely used in dining areas with frequent chair movement or places where tables and furniture are placed.

Maintenance
To keep in good condition for a long time, please pay attention to the following points.
- Regular vacuuming is sufficient for rug care. Gently vacuum along the nap and avoid the fringed areas.
- If liquid is spilled, gently blot with a dry cloth to absorb moisture. Please be careful not to rub.
- Once a year, lightly wipe along the nap with a tightly wrung towel to maintain the color and luster.
